kind of into the wild

The second week of spring break I was left with nothing to do because my friends had already started their big european journeys, so I decided to find something to do by myself. Naturally, my thoughts turned to mountains and skiing. So, I fashioned myself a nice little trip to Geneva and Zermatt, Switzerland. Despite the scariness of being all alone in a foreign country, I managed to have an awesome adventure. Here are some pictures and I'll try to include some captions.

old town...a carnival and souvenir market

the organ in the cathedral

a square by the park

the famous giant chess games

the park where I spent like 6 hours reading and staring at the sky

the Matterhorn

Me and a french kid I met, Samuel, standing on the Matterhorn. One of the coolest experiences of my life.

Zermatt is a car-free town, so the taxis are all these little electric bus-things

a grave in the climber's cemetary, dedicated to everyone who has died in the mountains.
